so, we finally get a bit of the explanation behind the attack.
I guess I should maybe add in a bit of a disclaimer. The main "bad guy" of the flashback is devoutly christian. This isn't meant to be an attack on Christianity. The church was a powerful organization at the time so it makes sense that it be an instrument through which an enterprise this big was organized. It also makes sense that a religion whose holy text affiliates dragons with Satan isn't going to get along well with dragons and is going to be villainised in a dragon's story. The "bad guy" is christian because that's what makes sense for the story.
re Onasaki: I guess I also wanted to keep things moving, the flashback is long enough as it is and fights take a while page-wise.
Miya: thanks ^_^
re StellaFrost:the red is just more of the scales. I figured that the parts of his clothes that lie closer to his skin would shapeshift first, so when he's in an in-between stage areas like the back of his belt have some scales.
re dragonmaiden50: ^_^
re Azhtann: it's so much more of a pain to draw though, bleh
re Doodlebot: ^_^ glad to have you back
re Skittsue: its mostly a size issue. He can't get much bigger and fit in the hallways and at the size that he's at his scales won't offer much protection. For him its more important to be able to get closer to people before being recognized as inhuman.
Oh wow, that's pretty sucky. Drake must be fuming that his race got wiped out so quickly.
On a completely random note: If baby dragons can't take on fully human forms (i.e. drake's little brother hadn't mastered it completely yet and he was a child) then can they enter the caves when they're really young?
