bleh. I'm mildly disgusted with myself over the random fluff. So unlike me. Oh well, it's almost done. sorry to all of you who were expecting me to do something clever and twist this around.
I'm also rather sad about the return to grey tones. I'm going to have to find some way of working color back into the pages.
the pannels are very sequential on this page. not sure if I like that or not, but I like the last four pannels on their own.
Vote incentives are back, this time actualy relating to HF. sneak peak at two young canine characters that'll show up later. I'm not used to drawing puppies, so I wasn't sure about the proportions. I also haven't decided which is the male, and which is female, do either pattern of stirpes look more masculine or feminine?
This is cute. I really like the fluff, but the repetition of the four pannels/ four panels thing... I dunno. It no lookie that good, in my opine. The white space also sorta takes you out of the story of the comic.
I like Drake's "getting ready to poke" expression, though. And the eyes in the eyes panel are really well done. Love the texture in the redness.
The return of the red blob from beyond the gravish sort of thing we call a school!
I really like this way of doing it. At least, for this knd of scene. It portrays that there are a lot of little actions. Also its realy useful for subtle changes in a persons posture or body language. Definately wouldn't work in like, a fight, for example, but for this works perfectly. *hopes for blood*
^^ I likies. Drake seems kinda like an angry kitty in the second panel. (Or atleast how my kitties look when they get angry or annoyed.)
Oh, and on the pups: The one seated seems more feminine. Partly due to posture, the other main reason is the patterning by the eyes. The softer curves there make the one seated seem more feminine. Does that make any sense?
omg! you did fluff! and it's not toothachey sweet either! :)
i think you did a great job on your fluffyness, not fluffy but still sweet and funny.
joan's eyes are AMAZING. they're so detailed. and drake's really cute and funny. XD
Whoahdude! So many more comments on this one! xD;
Woo, Drake gets to poke Joan awake! How fun! xP I hope she doesn't impale him in the next comic. It was her fault. D:> *tries to give protective armor to Drake, but can't because he's a webcomic character* Awwh darn. I seem to keep missing that point. ;_;
I don't see any fluff yet, actually... it's only if someone stops being so calm and cool... >w> *tries to tickle Drake, but once again the plan is foiled by the computer screen*
You DO know I make my comments long and boring purposefully. >>8D
re Lucida: *imagines Drake and Joan's reactions when they're told that they pull off fluff wee* ...*giggle*
re Chaoskris88: thanks. I don't comment often either, so I can't really complain.
re joey790: thanks
re warlife: Joan's certainly not going to be happy.
re doom Bubbles: Drake is a disgruntled dragon (nice new avi btw)
re Zheyna: I wanted the extra white space around the eyes to give them sort of a dazed, romoed feel, but I didn't realize about the repetition of the four pannels untill well into drawing process. usualy I try to avoid that.
re teurastaa: *cowers in fear* there will be more, there'll be depressing stuff first, but small doses of fluff will return.
re Assuni: yup, "fluff" is sugary sweet romantic cute stuff. not exactly fitting with hurrock's tone, but apparantly amusing in small doses.
re silversoul: ^^ hopefully not too creepy here.
re Butterscotch: three out of three votes for the sitting one being female, looks like that's how it's gonna be.
re Theflowerchild: thanks Red. that's sort of what I was going for.
re TheoryMage: he's really not quite sure what to make of it. last he checked she seemed to hate him.
re Xeluu: i draw most of my dragons with a feline base, and it translates over to his mannerisms in human form (theymore fun to draw ^^).
re daishar: I love it so. i've always wanted one.
re Zed Di Dragon: most people have been saying the left one looks female too (which is nice since that was what I had orriginaly planned when drawing it, i just wan't sure when it was finished).
I've been contemplating using washed out warm colors on the next page to see how they work out. *crosses fingers*
re Sidheprincezzz: I've got a low tolerance for sweetness, so I tend to use it sparringly. Hopefully it makes it more effective when I do, but that has yet to be seen I supposse.
re pink.lollipop: ^^ glad you like it.
re darklightartist: trying to balance out the dark stuff that proceeded this chapter and the violent stuff that will follow.
re Mythee: I know, the number of coments on this page blew me away, maybe I should do more stuff like this...nah. this is probably as close I'll come to the fluff of the akward romantic comedy variety.
Heh heh.I was expecting this.Ive seen something like it before, dont remember where though.Anyways i like the how the story is goin so far.wouldve been better if drake pushed her off in disgust.just my opinion, doesnt mean much.I'll go back to sleep now.
Ah, so you draw your dragons with a feline base? Awesome, that makes dragons even cooler. x3
Actually, I totally love any dragons as long as they're REPTILES. I just don't understand how people could say that a wolf with dragon wings, whiskers and tail, is a dragon. *shakes fist at "dragons" who really aren't at all*
Oh, and come to think of it, these so-called wolf "dragons" look more like crosses between a cat and a fox. And even worse, foxes on Gaia all look like kittens. I don't understand how come a fox fan can go all crazy over a drawing of a KITTEN called a FOX, and then say that they don't like felines all that much.
And also, I don't like canines all that much, if that wasn't already obvious. >xD;; Ahahaha.
I wonder what the heck a dragon based off a spider would look like... ._. *has to make one of those some day* >=3 Mufufufu.
re Nyliak:that's wonderful, I'm glad it's not floating around my campus somewhere.
re Smuag: thanks ^^
re VampireKizu: I try to at least make my cliches amuzing.
re Mr.Blackbird: well, this sor of thing seems to happen a lot in stories, which means that the whole thing might just be bahamoot's doing.
re white_wolf1989: thanks ^^
re Mythee and VampireKizu: I'm not sure what the appeal is of furry dragons. For me, it just doesn't make sense for something with a reptilian build (legs jutting out to the side) would be able to leap into the air, so I swick over to a mamilian body type with the legs under it. It gives me much more fluid and graceful feel. It's still scaly and such, just its bones and muscles are feline.
