Now I couldn't very well mention that Drake had an ex (pg 255) and not introduce her, now could I? She's yet another variety of dragon than we'd seen from around London Drake's area or the new fellow who just arrived. The most obvious difference is the horns, which are dark as opposed to the ivory-colored ones of the dragons we've seen before.
Most dragons have flamboyant coloring since their size makes camouflage ineffective (try hiding in the grass, or even a forest when you're several stories tall). Brittany is rather unique among dragons in that her pale belly plates and pale blue wing membranes are harder to spot from below against the sky. This makes her an especially deadly arial fighter since she can dive suddenly out of a clear blue sky while most would be easily spotted from a distance.
OF course she's not looking her best here since she just had a good chunk of a mountain dropped on her. There's a picture of her pre-landslide up as a vote incentive for the Top Webcomics list (link at the bottom of the page).
a note on Dragons and injuries:
It's a pretty established part of dragon mythology that their scales are the toughest thing around, so at their full size the dragons in Hurrocks Fardel can block most things with their scales (if they're in a form that's a smaller size the scales are proportionally smaller and slightly weaker). This doesn't mean that they can't be hurt. The larger scales along their bellies are the strongest, but sometimes weapons can slide between them. In other stories knights sometimes will dig little pits so they can stab at the dragons from below and there is also the skilled archers like the one who took out Smaug who can hit between the plates.
Their plates also don't protect them from the impact of crush injuries. Their bodies are heavily muscled enough that they can still soak up a lot of damage, but something like a boulder landing on them is going to do some damage.
Their wings are the most fragile part of their anatomy. The wing membranes aren't coated in scales. They're still about as tough as leather but can be cut far more easily than the rest of the body. The "fingers" that support the membrane do have scales, but they don't have the heavy muscles to protect them from all but the most serious of crush injuries that the rest of the body has. They're susceptible to multiple, quite nasty fractures.
I've added a map of the different dragon regions in the extras section in case you're curious, and I also got a new bit of fanart in the fanart section, go check it out.
re Yubria: it's totaly a word when you're talking about dragons.
re Tyto Alba: yup ^_^
re Imola: I think Alba's referring to a dragon that there was a sneak peak of on my deviant art, but I'm really impressed that you remembered the other dragon's eye-color.
re tRickityHouses: thanks ^_^
re Zoula: thanks, I figured that since he would be straining to lift the rock they'd come out a bit.
re Onasaki: no, some people just recognized her from my Deviantart, we haven't seen her before now in the comic. They don't change color aside from their scales darkening as they age, she just happens to be purple.
re Tenshi Yami no Neko: London and Frisia are on it
re Xeluu: I think Novick had written the first couple in advance, so was able to release them rapidly. We might have a long wait before the next one.
