uhg, last pannel. Those open doors made perspective all funky because they're not at right angles to anything. Same with the bannester. Other than that, I'm happy with the page.

The tunnels that Fitz's dad mentioned are either old subway systems or bunkers/outposts made during and after the Shadows War by human refugees.

people who do comics shouldn't play RPG's, Knights of the Old Republic nearly made me miss the update.

replies from last page:
re Imola: the eyes are more effective in combination with the ears. too bad he's got the hood.

re holyknight: which advice?

re Gregory Williams: *insert joke about bling here* red's right about the medal thing, although he is fairly secure nevertheless. Hey, for all you know, his uniform could be pink since I'm not coloring it.

re Redsweathshirt: I hit a "what's the point" phase again in Wow, so I've stopped playing for a while. Course, then I bought Knights of the Old Republic and am having fun racking up dark side points slaughtering innocent civilians, so it evens out.

I like my scribbles.

re UglyKitten: yeah, that the problem with adding the text on the bubbles. I draw the page thining "oh, and teh text will cover that spot" and then the text ends up taking less room that I thought it would, bleh. I'll have to stop cutting corners and fill the backgrounds.

The sunrise looks great, though that means no more pretty blue pages and that makes me feel sad ;_;

As for the last panel, the incredible detail makes up for the funky angles. I like the little kitty in the window ^^

UglyKitten, June 19th, 2006, 11:45 pm

That torch on the it leaning against the wall??? O.o Hmm...the doors do look a little funny. I think it's actually the door handle that looks the funniest, though. It doesn't match up with anything else around it. (The door with the guy leaning against it).

^_^ I'm glad Drake at least gives to poor man some advice. It shows he's not ENTIRELY cold-hearted. I'm still curious about his intentions, though...

holyknight, June 19th, 2006, 11:53 pm

wow.. those guys are SOOOO nice! If I was the guy, I would get angry! AWESOME COMIC!

daidaishar, June 20th, 2006, 12:35 am

re Butterscotch: sun's not up yet, its just a visual aid. the whole vampire story-arc thing is going to ensure lots of blue pages in the future.

re UglyKitten: oh dear, the speach bubble covered where the torch is stuck in the ground, fixed that and tried again to fix the door handle (hit refresh).

re holyknight: he's probably just too tierd and overwrought to want to mtry and create more trouble by complaining.

It looks like the torch on the ground, soon will set the house on fire ^^.Drake is pretty good in the first panel, it is cool, that his hut and hair cover his eyes. I like Fitz in the last panel, and of course the cat! Love cats! Joans eye looks a little odd, maybe because you did not colour it.

Nice sunrise by the way.

Sidheprincezzz, June 20th, 2006, 12:32 pm

yay! update! rah rah rah sis boom ba! O.o

i really like drake in the first panel and the sunrise.
i was wondering what you use to create your comics?
why is the dude in the last panel in the backgound holding his eye?

daidaishar, June 20th, 2006, 1:35 pm

re dirtsa: eh, I thought the eye would be too small to notice. I didn't add it because I didn't want to draw attention to her since she's sort of background in the pannel, but since it's a noticible lack I went back and added it. (hit refresh)
re Chaoskris88: she's holding her shoulder because
a. it still hurts
b. she's still indignant
c. Dai disn't want her just standing there blandly
d. all of the above
chose whichever one works best for you.

re Sidheprincezzz:I use an incredibly glitchy and tempramental version of photoshop that came with my dad's digital camera for free. Hopefuly once I'm in college I'll be able to use the student discount deal to get a real version of photoshop at something approaching a decent price.

In photoshop I use lots of layers with different transparencies and the basic brush, smudge, fill, and erase tools.

Recently I took a tour of the Portland Underground, a system of tunnels and interconnected passage ways that thread through downtown and OldTown Portland, Oregon where I happen to live.
Your mention of tunnels and the fact that they're probably old subway systems and what not.
Kinda makes you think...
the recent history of Portland resides in things beneath the city. What kind of history would be found some 500, 1000 years from now...

Nikicus, June 20th, 2006, 8:38 pm

Amazing comic, ever plan on getting it published as a graphic novel? :O I'd buy it.

Roy D Mylote, June 21st, 2006, 2:23 pm

How do you ink this comic?

daidaishar, June 21st, 2006, 8:10 pm

JeniOctavia: If I ever get the main story line done, I want to go back and write about the Shadows war and it's aftermath. Sadly, the main stiryline looks like it's gonna take years.

re teurastaa: thanks, I got to expirament with different techniques on it.

re Nikicus: people ave asked me that before, and honestly, I don't know if I'd like to be published. I'd change the environment, you know? like I wouldn't be able to talk with you guys. Also, the way I use color would require doing it in a more expensive colored format, which is kinda a rip-off since I only do partial color. thanks for the vote of confidence though. maybe I'll think of something low-budget in the future.

re Roy D Mylote: I use Microns. usualy 08's ( .5 mm) for the heavy lines, 005 (.20mm) for the details and hatching, and a 02 (.3mm)for Drake's cloak.
