whew, it looks like I'll at least be able to update once a week.
Drake seems confident, but he always does, and Teddy seems worried, but he always does.
So, New Kent started off as a small fort overlooking the harbor after the Shadows War. It's ideal position ment that it steadily grew over time into a regional power. The old fort has been remade into a palace (at the top of the hill) and while the current rulers maintain a bit of the fort structure as a symbol of their military power, it's not really functional anymore. Luckily cannons tend to be the heaviest artillery around and they are rare, expensive, and don't have the range to fire across the river, so would need to be on a ship to even get close to the fort. The palace is made in a later style than you're used to seeing in Hurrocks, more colonial, and the whole city's a bit of a missmash culturaly.
In terms of the tinted glass thing, glass requires certain kinds of sand, which is pretty heavy to transport, and glass itself is fragile. in olden times glass windows in houses were a sign of wealth, to the point that taxes were based on them. Coloring without messing with the transparency must also be difficult, so I'm guessing that tinted glass would be expensive. Trade routes can be complex because the chunks of land that Solifidians settled on aren't open to humans, but Gypsies can pass though ok, so they specialize on trading these sorts of luxury good.
re amiko_16: I'm glad I gave up on trying to find a ear-covering hat that wasn't silly.
re Vine_Gar: Teddy really doesn't have Drake's confidence at all.
re Mythee: of course he is, he's the only one with any idea what he's doing.
re Angelzora: thanks, I've been trying to brush up the backgrounds.
re doom Bubbles: yup C:
re Zheyna: unfortunatly I don't think he can handle coffee.
re tRickityHouses: maybe there's a body in the bag.
re Ejder: Drake really needs to work on his planning.
re Tenshi Yami no Neko: the page was so much fun to draw between the two of them.
re axielouise: sunglasses=cool
re Onasaki: oh no, he needs the hat! D:
re BatsAreFlyingRats: yup, Drake's on the short side (he used to be tall, but humans were much shorter when he made his human form) and Teddy's very tall.
re Hippiepanda: yeah, poor girl is the only one still stuck in her original outfit, but she's scheduled for a costume change soon.
That second panel... perfectness. :D The town isn' t bad, either. :P
Oooooh, it was SUCh a long week without HF!
(Ummm, no need to answer that one with "school" and "life" because as a poor overworked architect student I know all too well... Though I wish you could live off of HF. :)
Drake already stated in their last village that haveing Joan around teded to distort things around them to make their trip like a story so surely he should know better then to jinx it all...then again i dont think Drake realy knows how to lie low.
