Yes Drake, ow. You stabbed yourself with a mysterious magic sword.
Luckily it is only temporary, so is claws are already back in this first panel.
Disrupting the flow of magic from Bahamut is like breaking a flow of water. The blade can sever it, but it will reassert itself shortly. Not too much raw power (it did come from killing a vampire, which don't rank that highly on the Solifidian power scale), but can be quite dangerous if applied properly.
re Xylas_Incarnum: yup!
re man in black: this is what happens when you ask Drake to investigate things.
re LtVonRozen: absorbing powers would also be quite vampire-y, but its not quite that strong.
re pfmoi: I was tempted to have him wander around for a while with a human hand, but that would make the blade a little too powerful.
re neonmalice: thanks!
re Eva Emaria: It is a potentially very distressing effect for Solifidians.
re Onasaki: :P surprise, I'm actually returned to finish the comic in the most abrupt and strangest way possible :) Mina probably realized that Drake would be involved, so nothing too dangerous.
Considering the fact that Joan is p OP herself, her blade doesn't need to be. I'm gonna say that at least PART of the reason for giving this to Joan is to reassure her, but that can't be the biggest reason, because that COULD be deadly in Joan's hands, and a serious threat to most Solifidians she might encounter. I can't wait to see this particular Chekov's gun go off.
Oh yes, let's arm the median with a weapon that even the DRAGON admits could be deadly in her hands. Brilliant idea. Do vampires still HAVE self-preservation instincts, because I think Mina's is BROKEN.
