One day delay in the update because of all those damn books.
I was tempted to model it off off the Trinity College in Dublin's library because its gorgeous and I attended that school for my master's degree, but the sense of stace didn't translate well to the comic, so I went with a generic layout.
Most books at this time are made by printing press or even hand written. This many that books took time and money to make, and a library of this scale would be sure rare. There's a strong bookworm vampire trope, so they have one of the best collections around.
The runes on the shelves are a preservation spell because my inner historian is uncomfortable having all those books exposed to the elements and people handling them. The Pre-Shadows War books (our modern books) aren't very sturdy, but the spells help they survive. Scholarly inclined vampires transcribe them onto sturdier materials.
The new voting incentive is more concept art for the Hurrocks Fardel video game idea I've been toying with. This time it's the protagonist's dragon form. As before, you can talk about it on the forum, HERE.
re Stardreamer: I love Archie, but he's got some serious skeletons and moral ambiguity in his closet.
re man in black: Luckily the books provide a distraction.
re tygermon: Did the fanart arrive? I'm not sure if I had a current email address for you. Julius's behavior will work quite well for what I have planned then.
re Xylas_Incarnum: Ok, I'll file him away as a potential appearance. At the moment there's no real point in the story that lends itself to that type of character, but things tend to shift as I write them out.
re Xylas_Incarnum: Yup, because Bahamut is all metaphysical, I use a drawing of him whenever there's an interaction between Bahamut and the real world. This one would be representing Drake's personal interaction.
re Mina_Lunga: Bahamut has been getting steadily more Beta-y over time. They're so pretty.
re Onasaki: Thank you again! I love drawing dragoney-Drake so I do it whenever I can.
RE 1st bit with my name: Probably would fit some... extremely hopeless scenario later on. Possibly showing up while obscured by shadows in scenes leading up to that sorta exteme case. Trying to advert such an event, and maybe lessens its events, but not enough. The character knows far more than they let on, but cannot say as much as they like due to reprecussions of some form or another that even those who could, in theory, rend reality assunder on a whim. Yet they either choose not to or cannot do so.
Probably something to do with even those who are made from Bahamut's existence can't cause that root to no longer exist no matter how powerful they are.
Oh right, I'd like to have the character, if they ever appear, to be known as "The Hanged Man" in addition to if you have any name that would fit. Though, honestly, I feel like they might only be able to have a name along the lines of "John Doe"/generic any person due to that... multitude personality complex thing.
... Either that or something like Leigion, due to, much like the Geth from MassEffect 3, They would be multiple people in one body so to speak.
As for the second bit adressed to me: cool, got that right.
Rune Spell's meaning
Hi, I really like your comic.
I'm really curious about how you made the spell for the bookshelves, cause I tried reading it and I got, "BRNSNRFN."
It it supposed to just be a fictional spell, or is it something you'd put on your own bookshelves?
I like studying magic, so I was curious about how you go about planning spells in your work.
