sorry I'm running a bit behind on updates, I'm working on my dissertation at the moment and research is going a bit slow.
For a while I was trying to figure out how to have Drake help Joan out of the tree. He needed to give her a boost up, but with his injuries he couldn't exactly catch her. Being supported by Archie further complicated matters, and there was no way she was going to let Archie the freaky looking stranger catch her. Eventually I just had her jump. Bend your knees Joan, you're the only one not injured out of the trio.
Not even multiple injuries can stop Drake from being an asshole.
We'll learn a bit more about Drake and Archie back in the good old days at a later point.
Drake's little horsemen comment is remarking on the fact that not only are there four mounted individuals in Archie's patrol, but they ride white, red, black and pale horses. Vampires are indeed prone to melodramatics, and while Archie has moved past the inclination to get full body tattoos and now rather regrets it, he's not above indulging in a bit of apocalyptic imagery.
re Imola: Poor Archie has been dealing with Drake for most of his unlife/death/vampire state. He's had to learn.
re Eva Emaria: he's not entirely comfortable with it. there will be some median power talk in a bit.
re Lusewing: thanks, I was really happy with how it came out (once I figured how to make the arm over the shoulders pose work)
re man in black: thanks ^_^
re Mina_Lunga: The trio managed to take care of about half of the Order's patrol, and the remainder were out in the open when the vampires charged so they were easy targets. The next page will have a bit more post battle logistics.
re Arrikanez: Archie has had enough experience with injured Drake to know to not mother him, it makes him snappy.
re OtakuNeko2499: I'm glad you like him because he's going to be around quite a bit in the next section.
re Kadtie: I feel like tall and think in is the traditional build for male vampires. There will be a few deviations, but Bahamut tends to shift them all that direction over time.
