It sounded like the test on the last page was difficult for some folks, so I changed my approach slightly. I hope this works better for everyone.

replies:

re Onasaki: hope the font is better (and getting interesting)

re man in black: thanks ^_^

re Ddraigeneth: thanks, I tinkered with the brightness/contrast a bit.

re Arrikanez: well, Tricksters can occasionally be helpful, but you're right, you can rarely take them at face value.

re Stardreamer: Trickster also tends to favor the underdog, so as the physically weakest of the trio Joan is very much his go to person.

re Kadtie: I envy your handwriting skills. I've been looking over medieval manuscripts for my thesis and I am terrified of the handwriting.

re Jae87: back to legible?

re Mina_Lunga: I hope this font works better. I'm glad you like the word people. drawing them can be a bit...tedious but I'm happy with how they come out.

Aww, Joan, there is "the last minute the saviours arrive" scene, too! :)

There's ALWAYS the 'unexpected hero' - or the 'person who didn't know they had all that power' - or even 'the person who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and inadvertently wins the battle'

There's always the Blast from the Past (or above, in my case). Vice Admiral Larscik of the Guardians of Equestria Fleet, commander of the USS Kiribati reporting in and offering assistance.

Hero light?
Usually these sorts of things do not go well, but ... the modern option could be "unlock secret power"?
