I'm really sorry that these updates are comming so slow. I am realy trying guys, but my days are being filled with teaching children how to paint, sorting out bunk disputes...and performing Bohemien Rapsody with sock puppets.
It's sort of hard for Drake to be an argumentative jerk when the other person is already a sad little being. Joan argues back, but giving Teddy a hard time is sort of like kicking a dead horse. Plus Drake still regaurds Teddy as like a little kid.
As far as finding a crossing place goes, my understanding of the vampire stories is that the larger the river and swifter the current, the more of a barrier the water is, so if they can find a shallow part with a weak current they'll be able to get Teddy across.
re LadyNightshade: and it's a good thing that the look suits him since he'll spending a lot of time that way.
re kasi: vamps have lots of little quirks that I plan to have fun with at some point, and I've been changing around how I draw people, so there are likely to be a few shifts here and there.
re bloomygirl315: for now at least.
re Tovi_ivoT: yup
re amiko_16: yup, or about as supportive as he can be.
re TheDemonDragonCat: my whole though process was that the mas killing was too much for him to deal with, so he focuses on the smaller river problem.
re godhand1514: although a lot of Louisiana water is pretty stagnant, which I don't think is as much of a problem for them. Old Miss certainly, but most of the bayous wouldn't be too bad.
re Imola: Teddy's the sort of person who likes being in control, especialy of his emotions, so he's not likely to display excessive emoness, he'll just be quiet and keep to himself.
re Mythee: he's such a sad little being, Im almost embarased that I created him.
re Angelzora: he looks more sad than evil, but maybe he's acting (ohno!) we shall have to see.
re silversoul: coffins and something about gravedirt.
re stevebarns: yeah, he is.
re kreestuh: nope, the adrenaline kick has worn off.
re sarall: it is...unless you're trying to get somewhere... rivers in this area tend to run north to south while they're traveling west to east. This might cause problems.
re teurastaa: Drake will figure out something. Worse comes to worse he could see what happens if he atemps to chuck Teddy across the water.
re comic king: the way I figure it, it's a purity thing. Vamps are weak against religious things, fire (which can be used to sanatize and such), occasionaly purity of heart (like the old Nosferatu movie) and that sort of thing. running water is another "cleaning" force that repells the whole uncleanly undead thing.
re tricorn5: me too. The fun of vampires is all of their weird litle quirks and OCD-ness.
re HABE: thanks. I was worried about how this shift back would go over. I'm glad you liked it.
re Vine_Gar: Drake probably wishes he wasn't the one doing the talking...awkwardness.
re Captain Shinji: in a sad dapressed sort of way.
re Neko with a Katana: yeah, it also makes buying pants a pain.
re Zheyna: thanks. I didn't want to do an overblown "woe is me I killed people" thing.
re malakan: hmmm, no, I wasn't familiar with the old stories about dragons. Was it because it would put out their fire, or the purity thing again?
re 2SkyDragon: the whole flying thing would probably come in handy if he had his powers back.
Awww... Teddy's so cute when he's sad. *glomps him* All that stuff Drake said about two sides of the same coin, that means some part of Teddy that was always with him is a sadistic killer, and it kicked in overdrive when Teddy got scythed. *is using her brain too much for summer*
P.S. The blood on Teddy's hands is gone, and wasn't there more blood on his shirt? Did he wash?
Well... Bohemian Rhapsody? That's a bit random... ^^;;
Anyhoo, great page and ZOMG! Drake has feelings!!! (Other than annoyance) It's either a miracle or Armageddon... I think I like the idea of 'miracle' better than 'end of all of man-kind'. I don't know about you though...
Hey, take your time updating. Quality pages like yours are always worth the wait!
I have always been confused on how exactly it is that rivers stop vampires. like..does it hurt when they enter running water or what? I can never work it out D:
I like how Teddy's so focused on the river. it sort of makes me think he's going, 'if i stare at it and pretend hard enough, I'll be able to get over this. eventually.'
I know this is a random time to ask, but because this is the first tenderish moment since... *tries to remember another tender moment in the comic*, well, since Joan's friends back in the village, I guess... Is there going to be any romance?
Fear not, I'm sure your time is well-spent with the small Jewish people.
Poor teddy. Vampires are such pathetic little parasites aren't they? so easy to kill too. Sure it takes time but they cant do much while they're in 50 pieces so burning it all shouldnt be too hard.Speaking of which i can think of at least 4 vampires i would like to kill hmmm...
Well, I personally don' t mind rare updates as long as they happen... but how about you don' t worry about it, have your well-earned... errrr, sock therapy, work as slowly on the pages as you wish, and then when you see fit we have a week when we get an update each or each second day? :) Seems like everyone here knows good stuff is worth waiting for!
In your story is it the sunshine or the light of day that's unhealthy for vamps?
