egads, another update!

Good news is that camp is over, I'll be traveling a bit more for two weeks, then I'll be settling back into college and returning to my old update pattern.

Birkita's little brother makes his appearance. Their family tends to have more spikes than heavy plate scales and light colored scales with patterning. He's younger and still a bit smaller than Drake.

Drakes are adressed by dragons outside their family by their region (the territory that a family was from was used like the way we use last names in modern times). It's a more formal way of address, prevents confusion with other Drakes, and further ties a Drake's identity with his or her family.

replies:

re tricorn5: the way I draw dragons they don't really qualify as lizards since I put their legs directly underneath (like mammals) them instead of jutting out the the side (like reptiles). I like them more catlike look, especially since it lets them jump more powerfully to get airborne.
re Mythee: thanks ^_^

re Onasaki: yup, human men are larger and stronger on average, hence them taking on warrior roles historically, but in dragons females have the physical advantage, and all the fun hormones certainly puts an edge on it.
re silversoul: I'm basing this on giving the females differently shaped wings. in humans men and women have either longer pointer or ring finger, so I took that and applied to to the wings (since they're essentially elongated fingers), making the females' longest on the last finger and the males' longest on the second-to-last. For some reason in fantasy stories female dragons also tend to be larger, and since Bahamoot makes things like that apply to reality I went with the trend.

re LuluMoon: ^_^ aww, thanks

re Tenshi Yami no Neko: they've been together long enough that Drake is used to it, but it still gets and eye-roll

re Imola: he's mildly irritated since it messes with his bodygaurding, but is used to it by now.

Woow.
He's pretty!!!
How do you come up with these dragon systems. Like, the Drakes and all. Did you research or did you come up with it?

It's cool how you're making this story and the characters' personalities. I love it!
:D

Durham looks a lot more distinct from his sibling than Drake does from his. Just something I notice.

I like Drake rolling his eyes at the mushy dragon-flirtation.

Tenshi Yami no Neko, 15 Aug 2008 07:13 pm

Wow. Durham is really.......colorful. I like it! Lol.
I feel Drakes pain, I've met someone before and the first time we met they all the sudden automatically thought we were best friends. The worst part was i hated that person. Alot.

I was wondering how they adressed drakes outside of their own family's. So all the deifferent dragon family's control one region each and use that as a sort of surename?

i really like durhams colors. very colorful.. Was waitin for ur return. Nice to have you back

Sharky001, 15 Aug 2008 09:22 pm

Your dragons family names are the names of regions? Awesome. I want to see the Yorkshire family dragons so much :P

I love Durhams drakes colours, just from looking at him I can tell why Drake's no too fond of him

Imola, 16 Aug 2008 02:54 am

He' s so colourful... XD What a wonderful job on him! (Meaning it does seem like a rainbow coloured dragon and not a dragon with colours on a lower layer.) And ooooh, he seems to have freckles!

Birkita seems more able to take care of herself than her little bother... brother... to guard her...

Onasaki, 16 Aug 2008 04:29 pm

Too..colorful.. MEIN EYES!!!!! *screams, as his eyes bleed*
