@Onasaki: That sounds about right. He'd be right about it, but I can see why it might cause a rift. Personally, I think this is going to be more an issue of how their personalities changed under the pressure of their political positions. Also, Drake is, ostensibly, a lower-ranked dragon, while Mina is a very high-ranked vampire. Add into that the issue where more magical beings, like dragons, tend to look down on halfy-type creatures like vampires, it had to all be a mess.
@daidaishar: I know the story where Cinderella gets a glass sword. Intriguingly, neither implication you're thinking of happened. It was just a magical sword that happened to be made of glass, and made the sorts of wounds a normal sword was. Sleeping Beauty was a badass, though.
If you can get the edge sharp, and in this case it was magical enchanted not to break but even if you could just get it thick enough that breaking isn't a problem, a glass sword is terrifying to face...and yet horribly convenient for the one who owns it because the blade won't dull.
Awww, Mina looks pretty in that panel. Archie is the expo expert, ain't he? And politics are very good about driving things to Hell, it's just how they get you there that can be amusing.
I honestly can't wait to see where this is going, where our contest characters come in, where Joan's going to put her loyalties - and what Drake's role is in all of this, because I'm sure he does have a quite important one. I'm not entirely sure what Theodore's role is, but I'm excited for that, too.
