Off to the library!

Archie is being ominous again. This time Joan's fears are not entirely unfounded.

I've added a new voting incentive up. It's more concept art for the Hurrocks Fardel video game idea I've been toying with. As before, you can talk about it on the forum,
HERE.

replies:

re Onasaki: oopsies, thanks for the catch!

re Xylas_Incarnum: hmm, so if it's an after death thing, they could make the transfer from human to Solifidian (like vampires of werewolves do). If they're Solifidians, then they can be influenced enough by Bahamut to manifest powers (normal humans can only effect and be affected by Bahamut as a collective mass). They would perhaps become something similar to Catholic saints, but still existing in the physical realm. Does that sound similar to what you were thinking?

re tygermon: keep an eye on your pm's :) I know how you feel. I'm staying with my folks too at the moment. Over the past week or so I've just given up and started drawing around them instead of hiding away in my room (although I do that too). Breaking through that mental block has improved my productivity immensely. The Champions are behaving themselves for now. I'm planning shenanigans for later. Do you think Julius would get along with Oliver?

re Arrikanez:Going out on patrols is the closest he gets to blowing off some steam.

re StellaFrost: I try to put Oliver in whenever I get the chance. I was tempted to make it a bat, but ravens seemed to make more sense while still being tone-appropriate.

re Stardreamer: Archie's back story is the top of my list if I ever do a spin off. I'm terribly fond of him.

re man in black: poor fella

re Kadtie: The fork just seemed to suit the situation.

Oh a bureaucrat and Big Brother! Such a comfort he is.

I would be worried as well

Julius would totally get along with Oliver but he would so ignore the usual sexual harassment seminar's teachings and get a little too in his bubble at times and then get distracted when someone else comes into the room and forget that he was assisting Oliver with stuff XD

Yeah, pretty much nailed it. if at all possible, I'd like the character, if they ever appear, to be American (and male, 'cause I can think up things for them to say or do better that way... if that's ever needed.), and has a few little friends that use gunpowder. (lever action rifle and shotgun, and two revolvers.)
probably also would have two sheaths for swords or maybe machetes. Scars all over their body due to, well, the whole split yourself up to allow other aspects of humanity out for a bit part of their power.

They'd have a sorta hard to really hate if you've talked to them vibe, probably due to "I see no monsters here, only people. Though the funny thing is, Even when I was a mortal human, I never feared monsters. But then again, I also played [Dungeons and Dragons] as a kid and many other similar games besides. And well, all the monsters I really knew were human to say the least."
... or something like that. Point is, they seem very sane, except for when they aren't. But at those times they fall for more of being "The Wonka" in those moments than anything else. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWonka ... The fourth wall may or may not also exist for them due to being a Solifidian that feeds off of all human beliefs. What a human can do, may do, shall do, fears, what have you.

Also they hold to the concept of "There's no such thing as an armed civilian."
So they'd have no qualms with injuring others if swung at. Though they prefer to avoid conflict if it's... pointless. Drunk fight, minsinterpritation of events, what have ye, fights that serve no purpose they generally dislike.

Edit: The kicker? Well this would have two outcomes actually, one where you have this crumbing unstable "mad with power" variant that doesn't last long due to... reasons concerning inner turmoil, and the latter stable, who were aware of this possiblility, but only take it because it means they get to ... Do more with their time on the planet. Sorta Zen nonchalance but will do good if possible. In my mind, you can't force that kinda transformation. such power would have imposed restrictions for initial access. but... Seeing as you gain the largest power base in the entirety of the known plane of existance... it's not very feasable that it could be taken away now is it?

I can't help but see the blue flame around Drake as a cute Beta fish :-) That's it, Joan! Make him an adorable fishy friend!

Xylas_Incarnum, 21 Apr 2015 10:36 pm

@Mina_Lunga
... I think that's actually some sorta Bahamut fragment circling Drake... possibly his personal one if it works like that.

Mina_Lunga, 21 Apr 2015 10:44 pm

@Xylas_Incarnum

Oh, I think you're right - but it's still a lovely little Beta fish to me :-)

Onasaki, 23 Apr 2015 05:02 pm

I'm becoming your typo finder, Dai!

Third Panel "You influence on Bahamut" should be "Your influence on Bahamut"I think!

That being said, Drake looks awesome. Been a while since we've seen him try going dragony.
